GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Team Leaders are security professionals who assist the KCP Supervisor in overseeing the KCP Program and Patrol Members to ensure safety to the three communities: Standoff, Moses Lake and Lavern. The incumbent will ensure programming, policies, procedures, guidelines and schedules are adhered to. The incumbent will assist in the maintenance of statistics and ensure accurate reporting. The incumbent will ensure all criminal activities are reported and all information is properly recorded and documented for future reference or in the event information is required in a court of law and any other duties deemed necessary by the Kainai Community Patrol Supervisor.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:

The incumbent will report directly to the BTSD-BTRI – KCP Supervisor.
AREA OF SUPERVISION:

Kainai Community Patrol Members (14)
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of the KCP Supervisor - The KCP Team Leader will:
-
Adhere to existing Blood Tribe Administration Personnel policies and procedures and any changes that may occur.
-
Adhere to the Alberta Basic Security Training manual.
-
Ensure an organized and positive team environment.
-
Manage KCP Members in delegated community.
-
Assist and provide security with community events when asked to do so (By BTRU COORDINATOR, KCPSupervisor).
-
Assist and work in all three locations (Standoff, Moses Lake and Lavern) when needed.
-
Scheduled debriefing sessions when necessary.
-
Must perform regular foot patrols with his or her team members.
-
Must perform regular vehicle patrol with a provided KCP vehicle.
-
Delegate Tasks, Duties, and Responsibilities to KCP Members.
-
Maintain communication between all KCP Members.
-
Develop, maintain, and implement shift schedules.
-
Ensure all incidents, 1st CALLS, are properly reported and documented.
-
Observe and keep records of KCP employee activity.
-
Conduct performance evaluations on KCP Employees.
-
Attend conferences and meetings when instructed by BTRI COORDINATOR, KCP Supervisor.
-
Must hand out informational flyers/pamphlets door to door when instructed.
-
Inspire KCP members to attain goals and pursue excellence.
-
Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment of property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons of unusual occurrences.

Oversee KCP members’ weekly reports.
-
Work in shifts and under all weather conditions.
-
Ability to walk long distances and endure extended patrols.
-
Respond to KCP members’ complaints, maintain order and resolve issues.
-
Suggest areas for improvement, current events, community issues, KCP Team.

Institute and use 1st CALLS: BT Children’s Services, BT Housing, BT Police, BT Fire Station, BT EMT’s (AMBULANCE), RCMP.

Assist with the community children's youth activities.
NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS:
-
Alberta Traffic Safety.
-
Knowledge of Microsoft software.
-
Of Good character.
-
In good physical health.
-
Able to work and manage a team independently.
-
Must be disciplined and have an independent work style.
Qualifications
NECESSARY TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
-
Alberta Basic Security Training Certificate.
-
First Aid and CPR Certification.
-
Naloxone Injection Training.
-
Must have a class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation.
-
Must submit an updated drivers abstract.
-
Ability to communicate in Blackfoot an asset.
-
Updated Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
